Sweet Summertime at Black Bear Lodge

The sun is shining and the fish are biting here at Black Bear Lodge. This summer we have enjoyed great weather paired with various entertainment options. Some of our special events start with our featured performers at the Bear's Den Bar & Grill. Enjoy a fun filled night of karaoke with DJ Marvelous Marv every Thursday night. If singing isn't your style, we have great performances by JG Lightborne and Mark Wayne on every Monday, Tuesday and Saturday.

The fun doesn't stop there. Our campfire "Meet and Greet" is Sunday evenings, 7pm at South Point Campfire. This is a great way for our guests to get to know each other and make new friends. Professional fishing guide Fred Brogle helps answer any questions and gives out helpful fishing tips with his FREE fishing seminar at the Sunday campfire. Our guests can also enjoy s'mores by the campfire, with our children's activities director, Nikki.

It's no surprise that Nikki has been kept very busy this summer. From crafting to water play, the Black Bear children's summer program has been a great way for the children of our guests to learn and still have fun on the resort (meanwhile parents get some quiet time)! Children are free to choose the activities they wish to participate in, that way everyone can join at their leisure.

This summer sure has been sweet! Whether you enjoy fishing facts, roasting marshmallows by the campfire, or like to have your alone time on Little St. Germain Lake, we try to accommodate all of our guests needs, which makes Black Bear Lodge the ideal place for your summer vacation.

Family Reunion Summer Stay

Now is the time to make your 2011 summer reservations for best availability in your favorite cabin or lodge home. If you are looking for a resort to host your Family Reunion, we are the place! Black Bear Lodge is located on Little St. Germain Lake, (almost 1,000 acres) to boat, ski, fish and take a relaxing ride around the lake. The family will love our 2 private beaches, complimentary canoes, kayaks, and row boats. The Bear's Den Bar & Grill on-site is the perfect place to go to grab a homemade pizza or burger, or refreshing drink. Wedding Day!

We have another beautiful wedding at the Black Bear Lodge in the Bear's Den Restaurant. This is a sit down wedding for 80 people. All the family and friends have arrived and are waiting the wonderful ceremony outside on the lawn over looking Lt. St. Germain Lake. Be sure to look for the photos next week. Wedding Update

The wedding tent is up at Black Bear Lodge, for the 220 guests, and goodie bags are waiting for family and friends. Guests who came early are out on pontoon boats and enjoying the resort. Tonight they are going to enjoy a Northwoods "Fish Fry" at the Bear's Den Bar & Grill on-site. What a great place to have your wedding and let your guests celebrate this event with you! Maggie & Joe the Bride & Groom are going to jump off the dock and "trash the dress" after the wedding, be sure to look for photos next week!

Emerald Ash Borer

We want to make everyone aware of how to stop the spread of Emerald Ash Borer! America's neighborhoods and forests are under attack. The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) beetle has destroyed millions of ash trees. It lives in firewood. Move firewood and you spread the destruction. Help us protect the trees - and stop the beetle, when you have your family campfire. Promise you won't move firewood!

Wedding Time

We are very excited for our up coming wedding this weekend. It is going to be a large tent wedding. The Bride and Groom Maggie and Joe have given us permission to publish their photos after the wedding, so be sure to check back in to view. The Black Bear Lodge on Lt. St. Germain Lake in St. Germain, WI is a great place to get married and have the whole family come and enjoy the resort and area. If you are already married, come and celebrate a second honeymoon!

What time does the Lake Close?

We had a little girl, who is staying with us at Black Bear Lodge ask us: "What time does the Lake Close"? How cute is that! She told her family to hurry up and check-in because she wanted to swim before the lake closed. We hear the cutest stories from our guests.

Thanks to recent rain, our water levels have come back up on Little St. Germain Lake in St. Germain, Wisconsin. Families staying at Black Bear Lodge Resort, Cedaroma Lodge and Bayview Resort can enjoy water skiing, fishing, tubing and boating.

Snowmobile Hall of Fame

We had a guest staying at Black Bear Lodge Resort, who always comes up to snowmobile but never has time to visit the Snowmobile Hall of Fame, ask if it was open in the summer? Yes, the International Snowmobile Hall of Fame, in St. Germain, Wisconsin is open year round to take your family through. It is dedicated to preserving and highlighting the rich and exciting history of snowmobiling at both the recreational and competitive levels. Recently we had a Family Reunion staying at the Black Bear Lodge Resort, where the parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary! Wildlife facts!

Wildlife facts in the Northwoods': Did you know, the common loon can dive in excess of 200 feet. The double crested cormorant dives as deep as 120 feet, and members of the beaver families can stay under water for 10 to 12 minutes. You can see loons on Little St Germain Lake at the Black Bear Lodge resort in Wisconsin, during spring, summer and fall.

Out of the mouths of Children

One of the children from a family staying here in one of our cottages on Little St. Germain Lake in Wisconsin, came into the resort office today to tell us, "This vacation has been more funner than going to Disney Land!!!" He did everything from fishing, swimming, made S'mores over a campfire, biking, to playing on the private sand beach. He participated in our Children's Activities and even completed the Scavenger Hunt to be rewarded with an ice cream treat from the Bear Necessities Gift Shop.
